Alpinia Caerulea Red 'Red Back'

The Alpinia 'Red Back' is an Australian native traditionally used by the Aboriginal people.
Their long stems supporting green leaves with a red underneath, they look attractive when mass planted as an undergrowth. Blooms in spring to summer, blue berries soon follow in the months after. They are shade loving and can tolerate sunny conditions. The 'Red Backs' are also suited for pots as an indoor on patio plant. They enjoy being moist so keep up with regular watering.
